Who Brought the Cheap Wine?
Every bottle gets a second chance as mulled wine.

Make-aheadHold on the lowest heat for 2 hours
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) inexpensive dry red wine
- 3 oz brandy
- 2 oz orange liqueur
- 0.25 cup brown sugar or 3 oz maple syrup
- 1 orange, sliced
- 3 cinnamon sticks, 3 star anise, 6 cloves
Build
- Warm wine, sugar, orange and spices on low for 20 minutes. Never boil.
- Stir in the brandy and orange liqueur off the heat.
- Ladle into glass mugs with an orange slice.
