Grandma's Secret Stash
Grandma's "tea" is white mulled wine with a splash of pear brandy.

Make-aheadSpice the wine an hour ahead; hold warm
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine, such as Pinot Grigio or dry Riesling
- 3 oz pear brandy
- 2 oz honey
- 1 pear, sliced; strip of lemon peel
- 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 star anise, 4 cloves
Build
- Warm wine, honey, pear, peel and spices on low for 20 minutes. Never boil.
- Turn off the heat; stir in the pear brandy.
- Pour into a warmed glass teapot.
- Serve in teacups with a pear slice and a star anise.
